330,500 young people aged between 16 - 25 in Paris

Figure of the month: 330,500 young people aged between 16 - 25 in Paris
The results of the census in 2011 showed that 330,500 young people aged between 16 – 25 were living in Paris, i.e. 14.7% of its population. If the young people who commute into the capital on a daily basis to study or work are included, the figure for those who are taking advantage of what Paris has to offer is nearer 600,000. The geographical location of these 16 – 25-year-olds reveals a strong concentration in the Latin Quarter and in the 14th district where the Cité Universitaire Internationale is situated.
Whether they are students, workers, young independent people or still living with their parents, all these profiles are present in the capital: the latest Apur study has made it possible to draw up a typology of young Parisians and imagine a “geography” of young people in Paris.
Since 2012, Apur has been studying the way of life of young people in the capital and in particular has made a documentary: “Young people in Paris: faces, territories, careers” to give them a voice.
