The metropolitan area surrounding Paris is developing faster than ever and is experiencing a multitude of sometimes contradictory movements and phenomena which are changing its appearance and equilibrium. This process of metropolitanization involves us all : metropolitan inhabitants, local representatives, active members of civil society.
During recent years thought and debates in the Parisian metropolis have often been triggered by institutional reforms. Representatives in the Paris Métropole syndicate consider it time to address the situation in depth with an approach free from institutional issues and so launched the work group “A Strategic Vision of Grand Paris” at the end of 2015.
The first phase of this endeavor was finalised with the publication of a framework document of strategic questions. Today the second phase is underway with an unprecedented cycle of productive seminars in September and October.
All the work and discussion coming out of these seminars will converge towards a unifying event to be held on the afternoon of 21st October at the Cité des Sciences et de l’Industrie de Paris.
The first meeting-debate “The metropolis, an opportunity for everyone?” takes place on Wednesday 7th September from 4p.m. to 7p.m. at the Paris Métropole premises - 55 rue de Lyon (1st floor) 75012 Paris.
