From the Metropolitan Conference to Paris Métropole

Paris Métropole

Over the last ten years or so, the Apur has contributed to reflection undertaken by the City of Paris and the Île-de-France Region on important issues encountered on metropolitan territory.

Between 2006 and 2009 the informal structure of the Metropolitan Conference brought together almost 200 council members interested in this process aiming to gain knowledge of the territory, construct a common point of view and define shared areas of interest and objectives.

With this in view, the Apur drew up diagnoses on themes defined by members, considered as priorities and constructive for the evolution of the metropolis:  travel, housing, economic development. These  documents have contributed to founding a common culture of the territory concerned.

Since spring 2009, the Metropolitan Conference has taken on the form of the Paris Métropole Study Confederation - syndicat d’études Paris Métropole - with over a hundred  public authority members.

The Apur actively participates in reflection on projects for Paris Métropole by leading two of the thematic commissions (Metroplolitan projects and travel) and contributing to events such as the first Forum Métropole.
