Partnership work programme 2013/2014

Partnership work programme 2013/2014

Because of the knowledge and expert appraisals it develops, the Paris Urbanism Agency plays an important partnership role in researching, creating and implementing policies in Paris and the heart of the metropolis.  The drafting of its multi-annual work programme is guided by this rich and dynamic context of major commitments to the environment, transport policies, socio-economic changes and the transformation of territories.

The partnership programme for 2013/2014 follows on from works undertaken over the past years. It reinforces several lines of approach, building on new working methods and skills, and strengthening partnerships. Within this framework, the studies are both about going further to improve the quality of recurring tasks and commitment to new areas  over a two-year period.
It addresses three key areas:
Anticipating urban and societal changes in both Paris and the heart of the metropolis by:
  • fulfilling the City of Paris' commitments, in particular housing
  • enriching the cultural heritage
  • the social end economic dynamic
  • energy transition and commitments to sustainable development
  • meeting health challenges in densely populated urban environments (air quality), improving nature’s place in cities, diversity of city mobility for all, particularly those most in need, the role of public space, mobility.
Expansion of territorial knowledge through:
  • development of databases and maps-to-scale of the heart of the metropolis
  • broadening of societal knowledge
  • detailed knowledge of the territories and the urban flows which unite them which facilitate the necessary synergies between Paris,  existing and future inter-communalities and the territorial projects developed by the CDTs which are linked to the Grand Paris Express railway stations.
Development of synergies with:
  • our historic partners, the City of Paris, the State and the Regions, and the other members of the CA,
  • Paris Metropole, AIGP, IAU Ile-de-France, Paris Developpement and the Universities and Schools of Architecture,
  • co-operation with local government authorities, communes, departments of the inner suburbs of Paris and the civil engineering syndicates -grands syndicats techniques-,
  • European and international co-operation.
This programme will underpin the renewal of methods with “workshops”, “platforms”, exchanges, and the integration into the design of study programmes of space given to public debate, with both professionals and the general public.
Finally, the 2013/2014 programme continues the “workshop project” undertaken during 2012, a project mainly developed in-house with our principal partners, first among whom are the Departments of the City of Paris. The Workshop project is an inclusive process which will be consolidated in the autumn of 2013.
This programme was adopted on 17 January, 2013 by the Board of Directors of Apur.
