A team from Apur will be running in this 6 km race which will start at the Pont d'Iena (in 7 unclassed, staggered waves from 9.45 a.m. To 11.15 a.m.) finishing at the Place Joffre (from 10 a.m. for the first arrivals).
Created in 1997 under the sponsorship of the world class sportswoman Colette Besson, this race brought together 22.000 participants last year, becoming the number one French woman's running competition.
In this year's race, 2011, each participant can run under the colours of the Region where their heart lies. This theme will be awarded a prize for ”The Unbelievable Parisian”, judged on the best, original and creative costume, inspired by the traditions or life style of the chosen Region.
As well as the time when the race will actually be run, a “Parisians' Village” will be open on the Champs de Mars from 9th to 11th September, with association stands and other women's races organised by public authorities and private companies active in the fields of sport and health.
In 2010 the race was run under the flag of mobilisation for the fight against breast cancer. Thanks to the numerous fund-raising actions which took place throughout the year, almost 120.000 euros was given to the Foundation for Medical Research and for the fifth year running research on the illness was financed.
La Parisienne is a race which supports values such as :enjoying sport, being well and sharing … both women and men, are invited to come along to this event which is above all a festive occasion.
