The Pavillon de l'Arsenal is showing an exhibition on the new development of Medellin, the Columbian city with a population of almost 4 million which has radically transformed over the last ten years.
Designed by the French Development Agency, and the City of Medellin, the exhibition “Medellin Urbanismo Social” recounts this unprecedented transformation through emblematic architectural and urban planning projects, analyses and personal accounts and announces the future plans such as the Bio plan 2030, a strategic vision of urbanism for the Aburra Valley, developed with the Paris Urbanism Agency Apur.
The exhibition tells the story of an exemplary metamorphosis led by the municipal teams of Sergio Fajardo and Alonso Salazar who are convinced that architecture and urbanism are vectors of profound social transformation. With the guiding principle “the most beautiful for the humble”; requiring high standards and rapidity as a tool for the complete urban project.
