This study, undertaken in collaboration with the Regional Council of the Val-de-Marne, has enumerated and detailed the stock of social housing in the 47 communes of the Val-de-Marne, based on the rented social housing directory (RPLS on January 1st, 2013).
The aim is to propose the beginnings of a response to the big questions which are being asked about the territory: should the production of social housing be increased in the communes of a department which have not built much up to now? On the other hand, should communes which already have a lot of social housing be encouraged to continue building more? Can they do otherwise since the demand for social housing is higher where there is already a lot of social housing? Would it be better to encourage communes to diversify their social housing stock in terms of unit size, rent levels and funding category?
