In September 2013, the first International Franco-Mongolian Architecture and Urbanism workshop was held in Ulaanbaatar.
This workshop was organised jointly by the Mongolian University of Science and Technology School of Engineering and Architecture and the École Nationale Supérieure d’Architecture de Paris La Villette -ENSAPLV-, with the support of Ulaanbaatar City Council and Institute of Urbanism, the French Embassy in Mongolia and the Paris Urbanism Agency -Apur-, and brought together 19 French and Mongolian students.
After studying the sites, a few facts became clear concerning urban organisation; several significantly different ways of organising the city operate side by side.
A new workshop has been planned for September 2014. On this occasion, the outcomes of the 2013 workshop will be presented in the form of an exhibition in Ulaanbaatar Town Hall.
