Established in May 2017, by the three principal social housing providers (Paris Habitat, Elogie-Siemp and the Régie Immobilière de la Ville de Paris), the principal mission of EIG Paris Commerces is to combat property vacancies by endeavouring to set up, accompany and protect local businesses and craftspeople and to encourage businesses in the medical and services sectors.

253 premises were re-let during 2025, 153 of them to commercial or craft-based business (60%), 20% to non-profit associations, 11% as offices, 5% for medical practices and 4% to public services, and temporary use or storage. 32 premises were dedicated to so-called "activities of a responsible nature" which promote reuse, eco-friendly modes of transport, organic and locally produced, short circuit products and repair services etc.
