2598 homeless people met on the 5th Night of Solidarity from 20th to 21st January 2022 © Apur

The 5th Night of Solidarity took place in Paris during the night of 20th to 21st January 2022. According to the results of the initial count, which will be consolidated by the summer 2022, there were 2598 homeless people on the Parisian territory.

73% of the people were met on the streets of Paris, 27% in other spaces (the Vincennes and Boulogne woods, campsites, the Péripherique ring road embankments, metro and RER stations, SNCF railway stations, car parks of the three companies Effia – Saemes – Indigo, APHP waiting rooms, premises of the social housing landlord Paris Habitat). 80% of the people met were alone, 14% were in groups of 5 people or more and 6% were couples or families (in the extended sense).

This count shows a drop of around 8% compared with the previous Night of Solidarity on 25th March 2021 when 2829 homeless people were met (-231 people).

It’s to be noted that this Night of Solidarity was pooled with the INSEE “Mobile homes and homeless” survey in the context of the general population census.
