The map of sports venues able to accommodate national and international sports events in Grand Paris Metropolis is shown here in an updated version following its initial publication in the study Sport and the Grand Paris Express in 2017. It is based on data on the sports facilities, grounds and venues gathered during the 2021 census, a national database managed by the Ministry of Sports.
The capacity to accommodate national and international sports events highlights the large-scale facilities and sports venues (which vary depending on the type of sport), also likely to accommodate spectators. In Grand Paris Metropolis there are 330 venues with 935 facilities able to host national and international competitions. The map also shows how accessibility is improved by the Grand Paris Express for 65 venues and their 170 facilities located within a radius of 800 metres from station neighbourhoods.
