The housing construction dynamic in Grand Paris Metropolis can be seen not only from the number of housing units authorised to be built but also from the rate of growth of the stock.
The rate of growth of the housing stock due to construction expresses the ratio between the total number of dwellings authorised from 2013 to 2018 and the housing stock initially recorded in 2013. While the average rate is +7% over five years for municipal communes in the Metropolis, 18 of them obtained much higher rates, between +13% and +35%.
They involve communes of varying sizes but generally of medium size, less densely populated than average and far away from the concentrated urban core. Six are located in Val-de-Marne (Villiers-sur-Marne, Santeny, Chevilly-Larue, Villejuif, Thiais, Boissy-Saint-Léger), ten in Seine-Saint-Denis (Romainville, Noisy-Le-Grand, Vaujours, Aubervilliers, Noisy-Le-Sec, Bagnolet, Villepinte, Pierrefitte-sur-Seine, Saint-Ouen, Montfermeil), and two in Hauts-de-Seine (Clamart, Puteaux).
Saint-Ouen, Villejuif, Noisy-le-Grand, Romainville, Clamart and Aubervilliers are the only municipalities to stand out in both approaches to the construction effort, be this in the entire (2010-2020) figures or in the relative (2013-2018) growth.
