The existing, planned and potential accessibility to the stations at Chevilly-Larue, Hôpital Bicêtre, L’Haÿ-les-Roses, Noisy – Champs, Saint-Denis Pleyel, Sevran – Beaudottes, Villejuif – Gustave Roussy, Villejuif – Louis Aragon and Villiers – Bry – Champigny has been analysed. The study of these nine test stations is based on a collaborative approach implemented during partnership workshops bringing together the following partners for each station: Grand Paris Metropolis, the Société des Grands Projets, Île-de-France Mobilités, the Departements involved, the Public Territorial Establishments (EPT) concerned (Plaine Commune, Grand-Orly Seine Bièvre) as well as town councils, user associations and developers.
To enable and facilitate the intermodal connection of bicycles at stations, the continuity of the existing cycle route network is indispensable. This is based on the major structuring itineraries of the Metropolitan Cycle Plan and Vélo Île-de-France cycle network, but also, on a finer scale, facilities that have already been completed or are planned by the Departments, ETPs and local authorities. One of the main objective of these cycle paths is to enable Grand Paris residents to cycle to Grand Paris Express stations from their homes. Thus making it possible to reach major facilities and key business zones by bike and the GPE. Setting up and expanding large scale parking solutions at stations will ensure the continuity between cycle networks and the public transport system.
This initiative has made it possible to experiment with a new way of working collectively to find parking solutions for bicycles within a 3 km radius around stations (i.e.15 minutes by bike), as well a forming a pragmatic vision of the most favourable itineraries for bicycles to commute to and from the train stations studied, in the light of the identified and shared challenges.
