The study on the reacquisition of the A4 motorway covers a large territory stretching from the Gare de Lyon railway station to the toll booth at Coutevroult. The aim is to transform this main road into a metropolitan avenue, to improve traffic flow by creating a clean transport area, to calm and redefine public spaces and also to integrate it better into the development of the territories it passes through. Headed by the East Parisian municipal association ACTEP in partnership with the State, the Île-de-France Region, the City of Paris, the Departments of Val-de-Marne, Seine Saint Denis and the Seine et Marne, the study was entrusted at the beginning of the year 2012, to a group mandated by the François Leclercq Agency.
For this study Apur has been assigned to assist the project management alongside ACTEP, to monitor the work in progress, to offer its expertise in the fields of integrating an urban motorway, transport, a large territory and to participate in the work with specific contributions.
To launch the study in 2011, Apur carried out specific work on piecing together and treating data sent between the Departments of Paris, Seine-et-Marne, Seine-Saint-Denis and Val-de-Marne which has permitted an overall basic plan of the four departments to be formed as well as a collection of maps of the “territory's data “on socio-demographic themes, travel, housing, development and extensive landscapes.
