The first Night of Solidarity took place in 2018 in the territory of Paris. Since then, the procedure has been carried out by the Paris City Council each year.
In 2022, on the night of 20th to 21st January, counting was extended to the Grand Paris Metropolis, initially in 9 voluntary municipal communes as a metropolitan experiment. More municipal communes will be involved as from the Night of Solidarity in January 2023.
The Paris Urbanism Agency (Apur) provides the City of Paris, the Grand Paris Metropolis and participating municipal communes with methodological assistance. Apur is also responsible for exploiting the data and analysing the responses to a questionnaire in conjunction with the Scientific Committee of the Night of Solidarity. Each year, analysis reports summarising all the results are made and distributed.
