The BDCOM (or Base de Données des Commerces) is a triennial address-based census of all Parisian ground-floor premises with a shop window and access to the public space, including premises in a commercial concentration.
In addition to the data already published on the Apur open data platform (see links 2017 and 2020), the census of Parisian businesses proposed here is the result of a field survey carried out by the Apur in June 2023 with some twenty surveyors who criss-crossed all Parisian thoroughfares and verified (updated) and recorded in a structured database (83,154 premises, including 60,845 shops and commercial services), 103 commercial concentrations.
In addition to the precise location of each business (on the street, in the courtyard of a building, in a commercial concentration or on a street corner), the investigators also recorded the activity using a multi-level nomenclature (in 224, 47, 18, 8 or 2 items, depending on the desired grouping: https://www.apur.org/open_data/BDCOM_2023_OD.xlsx), as well as an assessment of the surface area of the commercial premises.
