Residential migration in Greater Paris - Métropole du Grand Paris -
60% of newcomers to the Métropole du Grand Paris are between 15 and 29 years old
During the year 2012, apart from foreign movement, 151,000 newcomers moved to live in Métropole du Grand Paris while 197,000 people moved away.  The metropolis’ economic and cultural dynamic is particularly attractive to young people who go there to finish their studies or for their first job. Paris rates high as a destination, as one out of every two newcomers choses to settle. Those who leave the metropolis are most often families and the elderly. In 2012, departures outnumbered arrivals in all the metropolitan territories except T3-Grand Paris Seine Ouest.
