While Paris Tech Festival and the Paris Region Smart Weeks are opening and on the eve of the inauguration of the Station F, the largest incubator in the world with 34,000 m2 devoted to innovation, IAU and Apur have combined efforts to assess the situation of the ecosystem of innovation in Paris, in the Metropolis and in Ile-de-France Region.

Paris, Greater Paris -Metropole du Grand Paris- and Ile-de-France are fertile areas for innovation which follows on from a long history of industrial, scientific and technical activity as well as know-how. Incubators, fablabs, third places, new forms of economy are to be found of astounding diversity. Today and in the future, the territories’ attractiveness is linked to these new levers namely optic fibre, R&D, data-centers, and new infrastructures like the Grand Paris Express. Not forgetting the entrepreneurial dynamic, which is determined to give an impetus to innovation.
As leader of Research and Development in France and Europe, Ile-de-France will be the most fibered region of Europe by 2020.
This general trend will have an impact on the transforming real estate offer and will contribute to a more agile urbanism emerging which will be adapted to and able to accommodate start-ups.
