The Atlas of Parisian Public Space is a tool to be used by the City of Paris Pedestrian Strategy, the Participative Budget and Parisian Projects. It makes it possible to identify places to be developed regarding mobility, their uses, as living environments, the presence of nature and to follow their evolution in the future.
They are illustrated with “atlas maps” made on the scale of Paris and each of its districts - arrondissements -. The maps give information on public space in its multiple dimensions and offer a certain number of indicators chosen from a common diagnostic.
The atlas was drawn up using databases from Apur and City of Paris geographic information systems, and forms an evolutive tool intended to enrich and inform work undertaken on public space.
The Atlas of Parisian Public Space forms one of Apur’s contributions to the Paris Pedestrian Strategy, with notably the studies on Singular places and The pace of life in public space.
Open datasets will soon be available online.
