Atlas of places of innovation in the Greater Paris - Grand Paris Metropolis

In 2021, more than 1,000 innovation and entrepreneurship support centres were listed in Grand Paris Metropolis by Apur.  In 2016, when the  previous atlas was put together, there were 250.

Through an illustrated atlas, this study aims to increase awareness of the ecosystem of innovation and  entrepreneurial support centres on a metropolitan scale. Detailed maps show the types of centres, by theme and by territory, as well as their contextual and geographical particularities. The significant increase in the number of places observed is evidence of the great vitality despite an uneven distribution within the territory. The study is accompanied by a diversification of support models and a hybridisation of programmes.

In a changing context, transformations question public policies on how entrepreneurs are accompanied at the local authority level, through business real estate which is managed by themselves or in existing or possible collaboration. New projects or the restructuring of existing facilities now increasingly target areas with particularly low levels of employment or those located in urban cohesion policy areas, where services are not provided or where there are “holes in the tennis-racket”, without existing public or private facilities being duplicated. To optimise existing resources and future developments, they resemble Swiss army knives of local economic development.
