The publication of new data compiled by Insee in the spring of 2022 makes it possible to update the estimation of the number of people living around the new metro stations in Grand Paris.

In 2017, the 68 Grand Paris Express station neighbourhoods were home to 1,444,900 inhabitants, the equivalent of 20% of the population of Grand Paris Metropolis.

On average, the population growth rate is slightly higher than in the metropolis as a whole (+0.3%/year) but situations vary: in 23 neighbourhoods the population increased between 2010 and 2017, in 30 neighbourhoods it remained stable and in 12 it fell slightly.  Although the growth of the population has slowed down since 2015, it will be influenced in the years to come by the numerous urban projects underway.
