The decarbonisation of logistics traffic - Refuelling supply in the Greater Paris -Grand Paris-

4.35 million m² of logistics premises have been listed in the Greater Paris - Grand Paris, 45% of which (almost  2 million  m²) is located in economic activity zones. In order to clarify the issues linked to supplying these major platforms with multi-energy stations and electric and hydrogen for NGV/bioNGV, Apur compares sources available for logistics professionals in the metropolis and the logistics hubs of activity.

To do this, Apur selected 11 economic activity zones (EAZ) where metropolitan logistics premises are the most dense, including over 70,000 m² and/or at least 15 logistics warehouses. Although almost half of the 19 NGV/bioNGV stations able to serve heavy goods vehicles are located in these 11 EAZ dense logistics premises, the availability of stations supplying hydrogen and electric suitable for heavy vehicles is as yet limited and unevenly distributed: out of the 11 largest logistics zones identified, 6 have, today,  no service station open to the general public suitable for heavy goods vehicles.

The aim of assessing the level of refuelling facilities for the general public in Grand Paris' EAZs is to identify those which are not equipped with service stations and which could be given priority to install an alternative energy supply, in order to facilitate the decarbonisation of logistics traffic. Decarbonisation of the logistics traffic could be encouraged by a more extensive network of multi-energy stations in Grand Paris Metropolis. Alongside this, promoting the gradual conversion of service stations to alternative energies is another important lever for the decarbonisation of traffic, particularly in areas around LEZ-m and near the major roads used by logistics professionals such as the motorways A1, A3, A4 and A14.
