The digital economy: a job dynamic led by the self-employed
In 2012 in Île-de-France the digital economy represented one out of every ten jobs. These jobs are increasingly concentrated in the centre of the Parisian conglomeration.
Since 2007 the self-employed have held a growing proportion of the sector. The nature of work in the digital field continues to evolve from manufacturing towards content.
Over half the digital jobs are appointed as managerial posts.
The digital economy is considered to have two aspects:  the profiles of those working in the field described in this note; the companies mentioned in the preceding note n° 99.
