The economic fabric of the station neighbourhoods along the Grand Paris metro Line 15 East – Predominance of public services and jobs in manufacturing and support

The economic fabric of the station neighbourhoods of the Grand Paris Metro Line

The future Grand Paris Express Line 15 East will serve twelve stations to the north and east of Paris, from Saint-Denis Pleyel to Champigny centre (the Grand Paris Express and the station neighbourhoods). The impact of this future transport network on the neighbourhoods which will accommodate these stations will probably be quite significant. Providing an overview of the present economic fabric will allow the dynamics of the future to be measured.
These neighbourhoods at present offer 144,000 jobs, of which two thirds are concentrated in four neighbourhoods (Saint-Denis Pleyel, Stade de France, Bobigny Pablo Picasso and Val de Fontenay). Public service jobs predominate in four other station neighbourhoods and manufacturing and support jobs in the remaining three neighbourhoods. Rosny Bois Perrier specialises in commercial jobs and local services, while Stade de France offers a majority of jobs in the tertiary sector. The majority of senior executives work in Stade de France and Saint-Denis Pleyel. Over the last 15 years, these two neighbourhoods have been the most dynamic in terms of construction, in particular of offices.
