A contribution to awareness of the legacy of metropolitan common property
The database assembled and put on Open Data by Apur brings together 34,830 protected buildings and 2,268 protected areas. It includes notably the world heritage (source: Unesco), national heritage (source : Ministry of Culture (MC)), Ministry of Ecological and Inclusive Transition (MTES) and municipal heritage (source : Communal Local Urbanism Plan PLU).
The work presented in this note enables each person to discover the diversity of legacies and landscapes which have drawn people’s attention at different epochs. The database informs those responsible for national policies, however local heritage is playing an increasingly important role, with a great number of associations active in preserving and enhancing it, with walks and debates organised by tourist offices, architecture, urbanism and environment councils -CAUE- and many others. Appreciating existing heritage is becoming an element for constructing a project, reviving the place given to a territory’s history.
The database extends to Metropole du Grand Paris’ boundaries.
