In Grand Paris Metropolis 2.1 million of the working population have office jobs. Over a period of twenty years these jobs have increased by 24%, at the same rate as the surface area of office premises. Despite new job centres emerging in Seine-Saint-Denis, and a slight easing off within the Parisian territory, these jobs remain concentrated in Paris and the western areas of the metropolis. Real estate projects contribute to the continuation of this geographical imbalance, even though the percentage of office jobs in Paris is on a downward trend to the benefit of other municipalities - communes - .
