Nightlife and mobility in Paris

With the development of Parisian nightlife mobility has become a major issue for night owls who would like as wide an offer as possible.

The polarities of Parisian nightlife not only concern night transport. This conclusion was drawn by cross-referencing available data: 8,860 bars were located plus licensed venues serving until 2 a.m. with 47 night bus lines (Grand Paris Noctilien) with their stops and routes running in Grand Paris as well as the Metro, RER, Transilien, etc. schedules.

Recent improvements made to the Noctilien night bus network and the metro services running later are much appreciated by night owls who want transport services to run later and the metro and Noctilien night buses to run more frequently. The arrival in the last few years of new mobility alternatives (kick-scooters, electric bicycles, scooters…), in addition to the existing offer of Vélib’ bicycles, taxis and vehicles for hire -VTC-, help to meet the demand. At the end of 2019 - beginning of 2020, an experiment of keeping the metro open all night on Saturdays is being carried out. The results will provide information about how  to improve the offer of public transport night services.
