Imagined during the first workshops on innovation in 2016, the initial plan and construction of an Observatory of young innovative companies in Grand Paris Metropolis was included and financed within the framework of Apur’s multi-year partnership work program. The work has mobiised numerous key players, support structures and local authorities and the first results contribute to a description of the Grand Paris Metropolis innovation ecosystem. This note presents a summary of the results of the first three test years: information on support structures of the panel, the companies and project leaders, elements of the path of innovative companies after leaving the support system and examples of in-depth analyses that can be carried out based on these data.

In view of the results, the evolution of expectations and objectives and new work carried out, it is necessary to make an assessment on this experiment and to consider the future prospects.
