Paris and the centre of the Parisian conurbation at the heart of temporary accom

This Note maps out the temporary accommodation and housing which exists in Paris and the departments of the inner ring of suburbs. It is based on data from the Finess 2012 file and completed  with data referring to hotel accommodation funded by the State.

At a regional level, Paris accommodates 19% of the population and holds 59% of accommodation places. This represents 8218 places in establishments such as CADA, CHRS, CHU, CPH and 9010 places in hotels paid for by the State in Ile-de-France.  Two thirds of the hotels run by the Samu Social de Paris( Medical Social Emergency Service) on behalf of the State are, however, situated outside Paris.
The amount of accommodation in Paris markedly outweighs that of the overall figure within the four central departments,  Paris representing 44% of the population and holding 70% of the accommodation places.
Finally, Paris holds 22% of temporary accommodation in Ile-de-France, ie. 16686 places. This category groups together the FJT, FTM, MR and RS. This percentage is almost equal to that of Seine-Saint-Denis and corresponds more or less to the demographic weight of Paris in the region.
