In 2023, business activity and the number of employees continued, on the whole, to progress in Paris but at a slower rate than in 2021 and 2022. Against this backdrop, the rate of unemployment rose slightly even though it remained relatively low. The number of companies becoming insolvent greatly increased, similarly to the rest of the national territory, falling to levels similar to those in 2019.
The most recent data on the last quarter of 2023 shows a slight deterioration of the economic situation: the outlook for 2024 therefore seems uncertain despite the disinflation underway.
