Press release – From Étoile to the Pont de Neuilly bridge

On 6th  July 2011, the first stages of reflection on the ambition for and future of the historical axis between Étoile and the Défense

A pilot committee drew up the terms and schedule of the study to be carried out by Apur by the end of 2012.
It assembled Jean‐Yves Durance, Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry  of Hauts-de-Seine, Philippe Chaix (represented by Christian Vénien), Director  of the Public Development Establishment for La Défense Seine‐Arche (EPADESA), Jean-Christophe Fromantin, Mayor of Neuilly-sur-Seine, Patrick Devedjian, Chairman of the General Council of  Hauts-de-Seine,  the Prefect of the  Region represented by Jean-Claude Ruysschaert, Regional inter-departmental Director of Public Facilities and Development Île‐de‐France, Pierre Mansat, Deputy Mayor of Paris and Vice-chairman of Apur and Anne Hidalgo, First-deputy Mayor of Paris and Chairmen of Apur.
This study is Included in the 2011 work program of the Parisian Urbanism Agency and was confirmed by unanimous agreement on the firm intention agreed upon during the Conseil de Paris session in December 2010. It will include the recent operations (redefinition of the Champs Elysées) and those in progress (renewal of La Défense, extension of the RER line E -Eole) as well as other considerations concerning the  filling in of the RN13 road in order to build a concerted and multidimensional urban project (landholding potential, animation of public space, landscaping aspects, eco-friendly traffic...).
