Following the publication at the end of 2019 of an initial study “Transformations in Grand Paris Express station neighbourhoods”, in 2020 the Observatory of Grand Paris Express Station Neighbourhoods began to analyse the neighbourhoods of the 33 stations to be opened after 2025.

In 2020 the Paris Urbanism Agency (Apur), in partnership with the Regional and Interdepartmental Directorate of Infrastructures and Development -DRIEA-, the Grand Paris Express company -SGP-, and accompanied by the public land and development establishments -EPF Ile-de-France- and -Grand Paris Aménagement-, continued the analysis of transformations in Grand Paris Express station neighbourhoods studying those of the 33 stations that will open between 2025 and 2030.
They include 9 neighbourhoods on line 28 (running from Orly Airport to Versailles Chantiers), 4 neighbourhoods on line 17 (running from Triangle de Gonesse to Mesnil-Amelot), 9 neighbourhoods on line 15 west (between Pont de Sèvres and Saint-Denis Pleyel), 10 neighbourhoods on line 15 east (between Saint-Denis Pleyel and Champigny Centre), and the Chelles neighbourhood on line 16.
As an extension of the first 2019 study which analysed the impact of the new metro in the 35 neighbourhoods that will accommodate the GPE by 2025, this new analysis describes the state of progress of urban projects in the neighbourhoods of the 33 remaining target stations as well as studying project programmes in terms of 5 public policies:
- to correct territorial imbalance, promote functional diversity and speed up housing construction;
- social diversity and the reduction of inequalities;
- commitment to environmental issues and innovation at the service of a carbon neutral city;
- accessibility and the enhancement of public spaces;
- new approaches to achieve these objectives.
This framework note presents the work to be carried out in the context of this new study. Publication of the study is planned for September 2020.
