Confronted by the amplitude and speed of changes that have been underway since the beginning of the 21st century, co-production is by far the method most used by the agency to understand and respond to environmental and societal challenges. It allows each subject to be explored in the greatest detail, thus enabling related issues to be communicated to all. This is offset by enough distance being created to permit major transformations to be reconsidered and analysed and for them to be transposed to as local a level as possible. From parcel of land to the entire territory, from housing block to municipality, from neighbourhood to metropolis, the Agency explores the geography with some partners, with others it measures the interstices between these different areas of knowledge or reaches beyond the boundaries to question the river links, or to compare experiences on a national, European or global level.
The widely diverse fields of study, be they from a societal or environmental standpoint, combine with the multidisciplinary know-how of the team and the plurality of tools developed to document, decrypt, accompany, highlight, project, explore and share. The studies and observation notes as well as the forward-looking analyses are transferred onto maps, data visualisations and digital applications so as to be accessible to all. When it is time to discuss more directly, meeting in workshops enables common proposals to emerge so that adapting the territory to the new climatic regime can be achieved collectively.
