Attendance and profiles of visitor to bathing sites in the Seine

The summer of 2025 saw a huge revival of swimming in the rivers Seine and Marne. Banned in the Seine in1923, but still widely practised, bathing stopped completely in the 1960s due to the deteriorating water quality. Based on a survey conducted with the City of Paris and site operators, Apur analyses the number of visitors and the characteristics of people who used the bathing sites during the summer of 2025.
