The summer of 2025 saw a huge revival of swimming in the rivers Seine and Marne. Banned in the Seine in1923, but still widely practised, bathing stopped completely in the 1960s due to the deteriorating water quality. Based on a survey conducted with the City of Paris and site operators, Apur analyses the number of visitors and the characteristics of people who used the bathing sites during the summer of 2025.

Who are the cyclists? What are their routines, practices and itineraries in Grand Paris? How many of them have been cycling for under five years? What means of transport did they use before? How is cycling integrated into their mobility habits? What are their motivations?

In a context where mobility services are developing, several local authorities have put in place, or are thinking about establishing car-sharing services as an alternative to personally owned vehicles. Apur was commissioned to carry out this study by Grand Paris Metropolis, in order to gain greater awareness of users and to analyse the opportunities for development.

Driven by the desire of local authorities to decarbonise the transportation of merchandise, e-commerce and the organisation of the 2024 Olympic Games, the use of cargo-bikes has expanded as a means of last-kilometre transport. This study documents the cyclo-logistics sector, the players involved, the locations and the support measures in place throughout the Grand Paris Metropolis.
