Apur is relocating its models
Within the framework of the project to reorganise its archives, which forms part of its work programme, Apur has transferred the draft model of the proposed development of Place Stalingrad and its surroundings, dating from 1985, to the depository at the Paris-Belleville National School of Architecture.
The proposed development study was taken as far as the draft phase by Apur and the City of Paris Department of Roads. The project was subsequently seen through and completed by the architect, Bernard Huet. The model represents Apur’s initial plan before Mr Huet took over the project, and reveals its ideas for large-scale development: traffic redirected below the metro; an open, 5000 m² plaza at the centre of a pedestrian esplanade covering 2 hectares, connecting the Rotonde de Ledoux to the Bassin de la Villette artificial lake.
The model will in the very near future be housed in the School of Architecture library, which is already home to a collection of documents from Bernard Huet’s personal library, and which it will complete.
