Apur's contribution to the study on the Orly Hub

From  September 2010 to July 2011, Apur was given the task of monitoring the urban study of the Orly Hub, carried out by EPA ORSA and four teams of Grand Paris architects. Apur's contributions, summarised in this document, were diverse : on the one hand urban developments and mobility were assessed and on the other methodological help in conducting the work teams and animating workshops was given.

The first major section of the study looks at the “ current situation of activities” within the territory, with the aim of  better defining  development issues and strategic sectors undergoing changes such as the socio-demographic dynamic. It also identifies the specific aspects of the overall landscape, available property, facilities and  centres of activity.
The second part deals with purely methodological aspects. At the half-way point of the study, Apur's reflections have contributed to orientating the teams' work by proposing a “project method approach” around three themes and the associated territories. This is intended to clarifying different strategies for each sector of the project:
the issue of  network-hubs and economic development north of the Orly Hub,
the issue of housing and available property along the Rd 7 road,
the issue of the landscape and facilities around the airport bypass.
Finally, on the very strategic question of transport,  highlighting modifiable or renewable property accessible over time (according to the phasing in2014, 2017, 2025), has allowed the effects of the project on a metropolitan and even international scale to be identified as opposed to those with more local repercussions. This is dealt with in the last part  of the document.
All this work has contributed to a more effective targeting of a certain number of specific development leverage points and strategic areas of influence for the future of the enormous Orly Hub project.
