In 2012, as part of its continuing work on radial roads, the Paris Urbanism Agency (Apur) included an in-depth study of the ex-RN2 in its partnership programme. Within this framework, an agreement was established with the Seine-Saint-Denis Regional Council.
Using the prospective diagnosis undertaken in 2013 as a basis, Apur and the Seine-Saint-Denis Regional Council were keen to support all the key players involved in drawing up a preliminary outline for a metropolitan boulevard along the ex-RN2. A work method structured around workshops was established.
An initial session of workshops was held on May 23rd, 2014, at Le Bourget airport. Half a day was given over to each of the two sectors, which pose different problems: from the Avenue de Flandre to Paris-Le-Bourget airport and from the airport to Villepinte. A second session of workshops was organised on September 30th, 2014 in the Maison du parc du Sausset with the aim of deepening the discussion on issues specific to the second stage in the proceedings.
About 100 people gathered for the workshops which focused on two main topics: landscape and road use. The workshops made it possible to define short and medium-term actions, including possible visibility components, ready for the Paris-Climate Conference (COP 21) which will be held at Le Bourget in November and December 2015. These documents sum up the work on the two sectors: from the Avenue de Flandre to Paris-Le-Bourget airport and from Paris-Le-Bourget airport to the A104.
