Governance of Île-de-France : Paris Métropole publishes its Green Paper

Drawing up proposals on how to evolve the governance of the Parisian metropolis was one of the three tasks laid down in Paris Métropole's initial objectives, in June 2009, when it was created. To achieve this, members have debated and made proposals within the framework of an innovative process, to which Apur has contributed as part of its convention with Paris Métropole. The Green Paper -Livre Vert- first came out on 20th June 2012. Its aim is to nourish the Government, local authority members  and the general public's reflection on the governance of Île-de-France.

The Paris Métropole Green Paper is open-ended and evolving. It juxtaposes points of view about  the metropolis in order to highlight the main issues and identify any malfunctioning or inequality. It addresses every aspect of governance,  dealing particularly with questions related to attractiveness, housing, mobility and even territorial inequalities. Suggestions are made of ways to extent the debate and face the challenges  of metropolitanisation.
This Green Paper will be debated by member municipalities of Paris Metropole from now until September and then debated publicly from September to November. The aim is to publish a White Paper -Livre Blanc- in December to present the common proposals to all members.
