In 2019, there were 2,060 hotels proposing 124,000 rooms in Grand Paris Metropolis. 69% of this capacity was concentrated in Paris, offering 84,800 rooms. The inventory of these establishments is the result of mobilising several sources consolidated over the course of the studies carried out by Apur: the database of the Tourist Board and Paris Conventions that lists hotels, including those which have not applied for classification, and those scheduled to open.
Added to this information was a detailed examination of building permits issued in Paris between 1986 and 2019, data collected from Departmental Tourism Committees and the Hauts-de-Seine, Seine-Saint-Denis and Val-de-Marne Departmental Councils in the context of work carried out on the Map of Metropolitan Hotels. Several Public Territorial Establishments (EPT) also contributed detailed information on their areas of competence.
Paris Airports - Aéroports de Paris - provided Apur with a list of hotels located on their land, as well as scheduled openings.
Finally, consultation of the general press, and also specialised sites and web platforms of hotel groups, completed the process. Bringing together and checking all these sources allows one to have as clear an idea as possible of the hotel offer in Grand Paris.
