The National Health and Social Establishment File (Finess) lists over 3,000 health facilities in Grand Paris Metropolis. These include 274 hospital establishments among which are 141 hospitals that provide numerous cutting edge services and have research centres. These major facilities attract a very wide public who sometimes live outside the Metropolis. At a more local level, 310 health centres play a fundamental role in the access to treatment and reducing the social inequalities linked to health care. They are particularly numerous in Paris (45% of the total number) and in Seine-Saint-Denis (25%). There are also 338 establishments that provide accommodation for dependant elderly people (Ehpad), 226 social action structures working for people with disabilities, as well as 78 major establishments who provide care for people suffering from mental.
