This map is the first  interpretation of a collective work between Apur, Enlarge your Paris and the map maker Anne Bailly.

Since 2017, Enlarge your Paris and the Société du Grand Paris have taken several million “Grand Parisians” on walks between the future stations of the Grand Paris Express lines 14, 15, 16, 17 and 18.

The aims of these hikes are to become aware of the future impact of these metro lines that run from suburb-to-suburb and to share the rich heritage and landscapes of Grand Paris’ emerging identity.

The idea was also to test the pedestrian routes around future stations and how they link up with natural environments and cultural sites.

It was realised during these walks, that the Grand Paris Express, by its form and size, is on the scale of the great metropolitan landscapes (rivers, forests, plateaux and plains, panoramas etc.).

With the help of the maps produced by Apur, the Paris Urbanism Agency, walkers were invited to share their observations and make proposals, by making notes and putting stickers on the maps: yellow for culture, green for the most beautiful natural environments and landscapes, red to highlight the worst places for walkers and blue for their favourite places.

In August 2020 and 2021, 1,500 pedestrians walked the first two Pedestrian Routes and produced nearly 800 maps adorned with thousands of multicoloured stickers and with incredibly rich and precise comments.

With the help of Apur and the cartographer Anne Bailly, the guides and journalists of Enlarge your Paris have undertaken, to synthesise the “blue stickers” - the favourites of the 2020 and 2021 walks of the Grand Paris Pedestrian Tour - Tour Piéton du Grand Paris -.

This map is exhibited at the BAP! Biennale of architecture and landscape, as part of  the context of the Société du Grand Paris exhibition "Pavillon Grand Paris Express” held from 14th May to 13th July 2022 in Versailles.
