Women aged between 50 to 74 who have not had organised or individual breast cancer diagnostic tests

Slightly more than one out of two women (53%) aged from 50 to 74 in Grand Paris have been tested for breast cancer within the last two years, be it through an organised screening programme or an individual diagnostic procedure.

The proportion of women having undergone organised screening and/or individual diagnostic tests is lowest in the department of Seine-Saint-Denis, lower than in Paris and Val-de-Marne. The rate of testing among 50 to 74 year olds in Haut-de-Seine is the highest among departments in the inner ring of suburbs - La Petite Couronne -, with almost 58% of women tested (via organised or individual diagnostic tests), compared with the overall metropolitan average of 53%.

At a municipal level, the lowest rates of use are found in the lowest income municipalities: less than 40% of women aged between 50 and 74 have benefited from organised or individual breast cancer tests in Aubervilliers, La Courneuve, Le Bourget, Saint-Denis, Bobigny and Pierrefitte-sur-Seine.

This map was made based on data provided by the French National Health Insurance organisation - Assurance Maladie - and illustrates the second part of the study “Social and Territorial Healthcare Inequalities, focusing on the use of healthcare and preventive services in Grand Paris.”
