Apartment buildings in Paris acquired under social housing regulations between 2001 and 2008: occupancy situation in 2009

Since 2001, 9,600 housing units in private buildings have been acquired by social housing organisations to provide social housing with little or no renovation. 17.5% of the units were vacant when acquired. In 2009, 3 out of 4 units were  already occupied by households with regulated rents -loyer conventionné- or were about to be allocated.
