In 2007, Parisian women earned on average an annual, salary, net income of 24 100 €. This is higher than that of other women in the metropolis, but inferior by 27% to that of Parisian men.

Apart from the influence of part time work, the inequalities of earnings between Parisian men and women is essentially due to the differences in the hourly rate of pay. These are very marked in the management sector, where the range of professional posts and salaries is extremely wide, particularly in the finance sector. Gaps increase with the age of the earner, as their careers unfold. This study is the result of a partnership between the Paris Urbanism Agency  -Apur- and the National Institute for Statistics and Economic Studies -l’Insee Ile-de-France-.
