12,000 to 15,000 shops, cafés, restaurants, cinemas and theatres are open every Sunday in Paris outside of Christmas and sales periods, i.e. approximately 20% of all Parisian shops and services open during the week. Most are small independent retailers or local shops, contrary to London, Berlin, Madrid and Milan where it is the large multiple retailers that are concerned.
