Urban and preoperational study on the Ivry-Port-Nord and Masséna-Bruneseau sectors

Urban and preoperational study on the Ivry-Port-Nord and Masséna-Bruneseau sect
As part of Apur’s 2009 partnership programme, this study offers an opportunity to consider, in a shared way, a territory with important challenges. The quality of the urban transformation between the city and town is decisive: it is at the interface dividing Paris and Ivry but is also between the city/town and the railway station lines, the city/town and the river and the opposite embankment with Bercy-Charenton. After piecing together and analysing the numerous projects underway, Apur has raised points which necessitate arbitration between the municipalities and key players involved in the territory. Apur then made spacial propositions in an attempt to draw the points of view closer together so that projects running on different time scales can produce coherent urban spaces.
The work was carried out in collaboration with the departments of Ivry and Paris, the General Council of Val-de-Marne, SYCTOM, RFF, SNCF, Ports de Paris and SEMAPA. It has led to three pilot committees, chaired by the City of Paris, Ivry and General Council representatives, who validated the conclusions of the study:
  • the extension of the métro line 10: an invaluable lever
  • new specifically placed links on the flat and via graded slopes to the SYCTOM factory between Paris and Ivry and between the factory and the platform
  • redefinition of the Seine embankments in liaison with the CG94 and Ports de Paris
  • Porte de Vitry-avenue Pierre-Sémard : a change in the continuity of the urban fabric of Ivry and the Massena-Bruneseau project. This remains uncertain and will depend on the progress of the Gare d’Austerlitz rail traffic.
