The level of vacancy calculated on the 84 streets of BDRues is higher than in October 2020, when the last survey took place. Vacancy has grown by 1.6 points reaching 9.4% of the total number of ground floor business premises located on the surveyed streets. This percentage, despite the rise, remains lower than the average level observed in Paris (10.5% in October 2020). The vacancy level fluctuates significantly depending on the type of street observed. Attractive local streets have a low rate of vacancy (6% in 2022), while very attractive streets, some of which have an international clientele, have seen vacancy greatly increase reaching  16% in 2022.

Among the 16,005 premises on the 84 BDRues streets, 1,505 were vacant in March 2022. Of these vacant premises, 23% were undergoing construction work, which indicates that they should soon be back in business.

In addition, among these 1,505 vacant premises recorded in March 2022, almost half were already unoccupied at the time of the October 2020 BDCom survey (45%), the remaining 814  vacant premises were occupied in 2020 by personal goods retailers (207 premises / 25%), cafes and restaurants (136 premises/17%), personal services (90 premises/11%) and food shops (80 premises/10%).
