Over and above the large transport infrastructure projects, travelling in cities has marked recent years with innovative solutions and the revival of means of transport from the past:
- alternatives to possessing a car, bicycle ; renting, borrowing, vehicle sharing...
- “alternative” public transport: car-sharing, walking bus, bike bus …
- information services: multi-modal travel centres, “smart-phone” applications, aid for decision making of travel budgets and/or housing of family units...
- solutions to facilitate travelling for people in precarious situations, who may be dependant on others or disabled...
In this context urban planning agencies endeavour to think, anticipate, advise and develop alternative transport solutions -alter-mobilité- for their constituencies, as complementary to the more conventional methods of planning in the field of transport.
Organised by the EPURES (Stéphanoise Region Urbanism Agency) in cooperation with the CERTU (Study Centre of Transport, Networks, Building and Urbanism) and the FNAU Transport and mobility Club.
The detailed programme of the workshop can be seen on the French page.
