One and a half years after the first lockdown in March 2020, Parisians active in social sectors were questioned on how they perceive the social affects of the crisis in Paris.
A process of observation of the social impact of the crisis in Paris was launched at the beginning of 2021 with the aim of analysing, foreseeing and coordinating responses in the social field within the Parisian territory.
Accompanied by Apur, this procedure should enable the City of Paris and its partners to have real-time information on the social effects of the crisis in order to orientate appropriate actions and measures. It is based on a number of methodological pillars, including the administration of a questionnaire drawn up in partnership.
The results presented here in this note come from the exploitation of answers given to the first survey carried out in June 2021.
What emerges is that the social effects of the crisis are already visible according to the majority of respondents. However, a significant proportion of them underline the fact that the crisis has not manifested all its effects and that it will only be possible to measure the extent of the social impact brought about by the crisis over a period of time.
The effects of the crisis touch all categories of the population at different levels. Two main effects were highlighted: on the one hand, the impact of the crisis on employment, on the other the isolation and worry brought about by the health crisis and the present and anticipated economic and social effects.
Respondents agree on the fact that the crisis was a destabilising period calling for reorganisation. They noted needs in terms of distributing information and coordinating and adapting their work conditions.
The questionnaire takes into account subjective perception. The answers obtained are thus to be put into perspective with the note on the current situation of the social effects of the crisis, the subject of another publication.
