Within the Parisian metropolis, 514,000 people were in jobs linked to the creative industries in 2012, that is to say 13% of the total working population.
The number of jobs in the creative professions have risen by 25,000 over the last five years and are increasingly present in the economy as a whole.
They posts are often held by managerial, highly qualified men. A quarter of the jobs are carried out by free-lancer.
The creative sectors are centred in Paris and the Hauts-de-Seine. Architecture and the performance arts are prevalent in the east of the Parisian metropolis while the publishing of books and software and advertising are predominant in the west.
